bwe donates 6000,- Euro to “Jedem Kind eine Chance” e.V.
Hermann Reiners and Aloys Lübbers from the association “Jedem Kind eine Chance” from Friesoythe were delighted over a donation of 6000,- Euro. Before christmas biogas weser-ems had asked its suppliers and business partners to dispense with gifts and donate instead to the association. By this occasion an amount of almost 3000,- Euro has been achieved. biogas weser-ems also did without presents for its customers and increased the amount to 6000,- Euro. “I think this is a sensible way of investing the money”, emphasised sales manager Benjamin Budde. “Every Child a Chance”- this is the aim of the association and supports children from financially disadvantaged families in the fields of parenting and education. It helps with financing school books, supports the participation in school trips or with the daily lunch at school. If the families are not able to finance this, the association provides support.
On 14th December 2011 biogas weser-ems invited its customers to an information afternoon to the Waldgasthof Schöning in Augustendorf. The meeting focussed on the technical and legal prerequisites for the direct marketing and premium tariff II (Flexibilitätsprämie), which are accessible in the context of the new EEG 2012 (Renewable Energies Act). Legal aspects regarding the topics named above were explained by Dr. Helmut Lobil, specialist in administrative law with special focus on Renewable Energies. Afterwards presented Dr. Heinrich Macke, managing director of the rhein ruhr Partner Gesellschaft für Energiehandel mbH (a German energy trading company), a marketing model. Following a corporative model of various plant operators was introduced. This corporative model already practises a focused marketing of electricity. Dr. Matthias Lamping, director of the project management at biogas weser-ems, explained technical possibilities. The session was well attended and strong interest was shown. After the presentations there was time for further discussions.
Extensive study by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover provides evidence
According to a study by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover there is no danger to human or animal health associated with fermentation residues of biogas plants. In 15 examined biogas plants in Lower Saxony no toxic substances such as Chlostridium botulinum, a pathogen producing neurotoxins, or other accumulations of bacteria could be detected in fermentation residues. Thus the suspicion, that in biogas plants a clear increase in the number of pathogens in the fermentation residues could be caused, was cleared up.
